So I set up a synology DS1513 and was trying to use a VPN to get remote access. I used PPTP protocol with MS-CHAP v2 authentication and MPPE 40/128 bit encryption and kept the MTU at 1400. I set up TCP port forwarding for port 1723 on the router the DS1513 is connected to. I then set up a VPN connection in the Windows Network and Sharing center.
